“O” Wines And The Gift Of Education
For many years I have helped my husband Greg Lill with sales, marketing, and public relations for DeLille Cellars, which he co-founded in 1992.
My passion for wine and the industry has grown significantly over the years, especially as my knowledge and palate have developed. In late 2006, while having dinner with freinds Bob & Kathy Johanson, a discussion around the wine business and women in the wine industry emerged. Over several bottles of DeLille at Barolo restaurant, Kathy and I had the idea to create a winery owned by women that would have a strong cause associated with the proceeds.
We had scratched out several thoughts and plans on many cocktail napkins throughout the evening. The next day while reading the crumpled up napkins we decided to research the idea and after a year of researching buying habits, wine varietals, label appeal, and price points we had created O Wines chardonnay. The “O” standing for “Opportunity” with the intent of funding Educational scholarships for low income, high potential youth.
O Wine Founder's Stacy Lill and Kathy Johanson
In four short years, we have funded 34 scholarships with all of these students the first in their family to attend College. It has been so rewarding to meet and follow the progress of our students, and they give us so much joy back through their drive, determination, and appreciation for the opportunity they have been given. Since inception we have grown to twelve thousand cases of wine and have a limited released Red Blend as well. O Wines can be found at QFC, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Met Market, Central Market, Costco, and soon to be, select Albertson’s grocery stores.
The wine is also available in area wine shops like Pete’s, McCarthy & Schiering, Pike & Western, and Esquin as well as many restaurants. We are distributed in WA, OR, AK, AZ, CA, HI, and ID through Columbia Distributors.
Buy O Wines and help give the gift of Education! Cheers!
