SPOTLIGHTer’s Summer MUST DO: Concert’s at Ste. Michelle
If you love music, wine, and lively Summer Nights, check out the concerts at Chateau Ste Michelle in Woodinville, WA.
There is no better place to enjoy an outdoor concert than the ampitheater on the back lawn of the winery. The setting is spectacular, and often times several Hot Air Balloons are floating in the sky nearby. Each year my husband and I attend 2-3 shows to enjoy the beautiful setting, music, and spend quality time with friends.
Recently we went to see the Gypsy Kings, and as I’m sure you can imagine, had a spectacular time!
Seating is either general tickets on the lush lawn with picnic baskets, blankets and assorted Chateau Ste Michelle wines, Red, White or Sparkling. It is a joy to see the sea of people on their blankets becoming friends with their neighbors as the blankets tend to be quite close together. Many people pack a gourmet meal that could compete with some of the finest restaurants around town. We were lucky enough to be in VIP seating which meant we did have an assigned chair in the front section near the stage. This ticket also included a VIP reception, with wine and a beautiful buffet created by John Sarich, the Culinary Directory at the winery. With the Gypsy Kings ready to kick off the night we hurried to our seats, and found that after only seconds the entire crowd was on their feet moving to the contagious beat of the band’s flamenco music, flavored with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Such a FUN night! This Summer’s Chateau Ste Michelle concert series has featured an amazing line up to include Sarah Mclachlan, Steve Miller Band, and Yes & Styx to name a few. It is not too late to enjoy the final concerts of the Season.
Maybe we will see you at Chris Botti or Pink Martini, if so, let’s raise a glass to a memorable experience.
