Bellevue Strawberry Festival!
The Bellevue Strawberry Festival from June 23-24 is presented by the Eastside Heritage Center, in cooperation with and support from the City of Bellevue. Come celebrate Strawberries and community at Crossroads Park at this festival, which is a revitalization of an old Bellevue tradition dating back to when strawberry farming was one of the region’s most famous activities.
This family oriented, historic community event will feature a classic automobile show, food & vendor booths, musical, artistic, athletic and dramatic entertainment, games, and even historical & agricultural displays. You may see a strawberry or two in various forms including strawberry shortcake eating contests, strawberry flats, chocolate covered strawberries, and much more!
There will be tons of entertainment that everyone will be able to enjoy! The Microsoft Store Main Stage will feature a wide variety of music, interrupted with the occasional strawberry shortcake eating contest. The Republic Services Family Fun Area will provide carnival games & prizes, castle & carousel bouncers, face painting, miniature golf, rock climbing wall, and peddle cars.
For a journey into the past, you can take a look at the development of the Crossroads Shopping Center, the 1962 World’s Fair, and life on the Eastside in the 1960s. You can see eye-catching photos of Bellevue’s past and exhibits of early farming equipment. This will be your chance to view first-hand the art of the spinning wool as was done by the Eastside’s early settlers, demonstrated by the members of the Northwest Regional Spinners Association. Other artifact demonstrations by the Eastside Heritage Center will include a Cider Press, Grinding Stone and a Vaporizer.
