A Day in the SPOTLIGHT: The Sorrento Hotel
The Sorrento Hotel and Hunt Club restaurant has had a very eventful year and is thrilled to partner with Spotlight, a platform where we can share exciting news and events!
A major highlight this year was brining on our new Executive Chef, Dan Gilmore. Gilmore brings more than 24 years of experience to his position at the Sorrento Hotel. Since the ’90s, Gilmore has built much of his reputation by work with the best chefs in the country at restaurants all over the West Coast, most recently serving as Executive Chef at Palisade. His culinary concept for the Hunt Club expresses a whimsical and playful experience. It speaks of looking back at the past, a nod towards tradition, and including Northwest, local seafood and regional game.
On another note, we have not lacked in our Sorrento Nights programming. Since January, the Sorrento launched new programming and reinvented past events for hotel guests and the public. Steffan Soule’s Parlor Magic is new to the Fireside Room, featuring theatrical, tableside magic taking place every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month, 5:30-8:30pm. The ever so famous Drinking Lessons has returned to the Hunt Club bar, where our leading bartender gives you a lesson (no, not on how to drink) on the history and culture of the cocktail. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month we discover a new spirit. 2 seating’s are offered, each 1 ½ hours long at 6pm & 8pm. $50 per person gets you the lesson, drinks and Hunt Club bites! Finally, the Fireside Room has introduced new music to its lineup! Now featuring Brazilian/Latin Jazz, Singer/Songwriters, Jazz Standards and of course acoustic indie/folk rock bands. Every Friday & Saturday, 8-11pm…oh, and it’s FREE!
The Sorrento Hotel is very thankful and appreciative for the opportunity to contribute to Spotlight Seattle and we are thrilled to be celebrating the one year anniversary. Here’s to another!
