Gig Harbor Wine and Food Festival
The Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Association presents its 3rd Annual Wine and Food Festival on Saturday, July 14 from 12:00pm-5:00pm. The 2012 Gig Harbor Wine and Food festival will be taking place on the grounds of the Gig Harbor’s Harbor History Museum, right along the historic waterfront of this beautiful maritime community. This festival will provide all types of activities including a grand tasting tent with 30+ wineries, 20+ fine restaurants & food purveyors, wine seminars, and opportunities to bid on amazing dining packages, insider experiences, and many other luxury items.
Not only is this a wonderful chance to observe multiple culinary talents, sample regional wines and beers, and taste amazing food, the festival also provides the opportunity to witness the cooking showdown of the summer! Celebrity chef appearances include the chance to experience the creativity and expertise of Iron Chef winner, Chef Holly Smith of Café Juanita and Executive Chef Tin Nguyen of Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort. The grand finale of the festival will be its very own Iron Chef cook-off challenge between these two talented chefs where each chef will prepare an appetizer and an entrée featuring fresh Dungeness crab to be presented to a panel of five judges. Two of the judges positions will be auctioned off to attending patrons and the remaining three judges will be selected from area noted celebrities and dignitaries.
Chef Holly Smith is the 2008 James Beard Foundation winner for Best Chef Northwest. Her Northern Italian inspired cooking at Cafe Juanita and Poco Carretto Gelato has received both local and national acclaim.
Executive Chef, Tin Nguyen, has more than 25 years in kitchens and 2 American Culinary Federation Gold Medals, he’s a seasoned veteran who knows how to take the heat.
Tickets can be purchased online and you must be 21+ to attend.
