SummeRun & Walk for Ovarian Cancer
Swedish Hospital presents its annual SummeRun & Walk for Ovarian Cancer on Sunday, July 22nd. The event will raise funds for future research, while simultaneously bringing together community members and honoring loved ones who’ve lost their life to the disease. There will be an award ceremony to conclude this fun-filled day of philanthropy.
Swedish Hospital has been a frontrunner in ovarian cancer research for 16 years with the objective that, some day, we will find a cure. Ovarian cancer, the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers, has provided a significant challenge for the scientific community. While survival rates for other women’s cancers – like breast and cervical cancer – have increased dramatically in recent years, the incidence and mortality of ovarian cancer has remained unchanged in 50 years. We applaud the Hospital for its work and fundraising efforts, like the SummeRun&Walk toward the disease.
Seattleites can get involved by either donating or registering for the event. The last day to register, July 18th, is quickly approaching. Additionally, directions and a map of the race are available on the Swedish Hospital event website.
