Bikinis on the Boardwalk & Summer Swimsuit Trends
While the sun seems to continually come and go in Seattle, we know there are plenty of trips that involve the need for a great bathing suit, or maybe two! This year the summer kicks off with the event Bikinis on the Boardwalk: Heidi Fish and Mac Fashion House featuring brand new designs for the 2012 season. All swimsuits on the runway are one of a kind pieces and for immediate sale. The doors open at Trinity at 7PM, with the show starting at 9PM. There isn’t a better time to come to an event that offers raffle tickets with special prizes for free swimsuits and tickets to upcoming events. The double debut of two of the hottest swimsuit designers takes place this Saturday, July 28th at Trinity in Pioneer Square. Tickets range from $8-$15. Mac Fashion House recently received the 2011 Designer of the Year, while Heidi Fish has had her swimsuits featured in Sports Illustrated 2012! Don’t miss this exciting event that allows you to find the perfect swimsuit that you’ve re-pinned on Pinterest or lusted after in Sports Illustrated. Follow the event news on their Facebook page!
With the event taking place, it’s great to look around and gain an idea of what it is that ‘suits’ your figure best. There are several swim suit trends that are to die for; finding the right swim suit for your body type is essential to feeling confident and summer ready! This year, retro is back with high waisted bottoms and one piece suits.
The suit above also shows off one of this summer’s hottest trends: stark contrast. The black on white can be seen in floral, as well as with stripes and animal print. The retro look is perfect for curvy women that want to show off the body in a classy way. If this retro look feels too conservative for you, try tackling a different trend: the ruffle.
The ruffle has been seen on all styles including the one seen above, as well as one piece suits, cut outs, and prints. The trends are easy to follow if you visit Harper’s Bazaar or Cosmopolitan. Each site offers a different look into the summer trends. Harper’s Bazaar also features suits that are similar to those seen in the magazines and walking down the runway. Get a good look at what you want, check out the Bikinis on the Boardwalk event, and before you know it you’re feeling confident on a sunny beach in Hawaii!
