9th Annual Fashion First Fashion Show
The 9th Annual Fashion First Fashion Show was a huge success with exquisite examples of fall trends presented by the leading local retailers and designers. The show took place at the Showbox SODO last Thursday, September 13th. This year’s fashion show benefited the nonprofit Rise n’ Shine, which provides ample support for children and teens fighting HIV/AIDS. Fashion First was made possible this year through top sponsors Smart Water & The Spa at Pro Sports Club. Other top sponsors include The Art Institute of Seattle, Seattle Sun Tan, Seattle Magazine, & Barrier.
Joan and Jared events put on a phenomenal show with samples from several local designers and retailers, including student couture designs from the Fashion Design students at the Art Institute of Seattle. The fashion at the show was exquisite with outstanding local boutiques such as La Ree, The Finerie, Sway & Cake, Tatters, Mercer, Canopy Blue, and Blue Luna. Making Fashion First unique and fashion forward were featured designs brought forth from WRAPHabillement and Malibu Doll.
As each retailer and designer presented their collection, the show flowed with cohesive concepts and complete looks for fall. Burgundy, navy, and several shades of green were prevalent throughout the show; splashes of burnt orange were noticeable, along with structured designs for menswear inspired looks. All couture designs by the Art Institute of Seattle featured a unique and beautiful take on formal dress. The accessories were almost as exciting to spot throughout the show, with scarves, gloves, and boots complimenting these fabulous fall looks.
