Savor the San Juans
As Autumn set in, islanders are celebrating the fine arts, food and culture of the San Juans! The 5th Annual Savor the San Juans 2012 features local restaurants, galleries and activities that define the northwest islands. For this entire month there will be a culinary celebration that offers 3-course dinners at restaurants like CoHo and The Place, beer and Brats for Oktoberfest on Lopez Island, and retreats for the growing artist.
Autumn is such a beautiful time here in the northwest; changing leaves fill the streets, the air turns crisp, and the festivities are all ahead. Take a scenic hike, or perhaps kayak from a shopping trip to a dinner destination. If that doesn’t calm your spirit, take an afternoon at the spa. There are so many places to explore, locally grown and prepared foods to eat, and ways to get in touch with your artistic self. This is also a great opportunity to shop for unique paintings and sculptures to add that finished touch to your home.
For us Seattleites who prefer to dodge high volume traffic hours, stay the night! The San Juans host some of the best sunsets in the northwest and all lodging caters to the luxury of those views. The LakeDale Resort and The Friday Harbor House are two of the many cozy places to stay while you explore the Islands.
Savor all the fine things of the northwest today! All reservations can be made online, and there’s no better season to see these Islands.
